Superwhisper: Talk to Your Computer (It's Better Than You Think)
Hey there! 👋
I want to tell you about Superwhisper, a tool that's become so natural to my workflow that it's actually hard to write about - because I'm literally using it right now to write this newsletter!
What is it?
Superwhisper lets you talk to your computer. Simple as that. But here's the cool part - it's not just another speech-to-text tool.
When you download it, it sets up Whisper models locally on your computer. Then, whenever you activate it, it uses these models to: - Convert your speech to text in real-time - Clean up the grammar automatically - Insert the text wherever your cursor is - Or put it in your clipboard if you prefer
Why it's different
The models are surprisingly smart. They don't just transcribe what you're saying - they actually understand it and clean up the grammar along the way. You can even customize the output with different prompts if that's your thing (I never use that feature, but it's there if you want it).
Here's a quick demo of how it works:
The Bottom Line
Look, I type pretty fast. But this? This is way faster. It's become such a natural part of my workflow that I sometimes forget I'm using it. And that's probably the biggest compliment I can give to any tool.
Give it a try - you might be surprised how quickly it becomes indispensable.
Happy talking! 🎙️
P.S. This entire newsletter was dictated using Superwhisper. How meta is that? 😉
